The purpose of this site is to give you some advice and tips for choosing a new domain name. Securing and registering a good (or great!) domain name is an important step to establishing your place on the internet. Some might even say it’s a major decision. In some ways it’s like naming a child or a business.
The domain name you choose will represent you, your business, your hobby or whatever it is that your site is about. Essentially, it’s the name that people will use when referring to your site and the way that they will find it, and hopefully tell others how to find it. You want to make it as easy as possible for people to remember your address and for them to communicate it to others.
There are a number of things to consider when trying to find the perfect domain name, and here on this site I’ll try to touch on those. Things like; branding, spelling, memorability, long address vs. short, top level domains (.com, .net. .org, etc.), hyphens and numbers, your intended audience, and SEO, among other things.
